BRICE CUSTER
(MONROE DEMOCRAT AUGUST 4,1891 P1C2)
Mr. Brice Custer, sheriff of Franklin county, Ohio, was in the city the forepart of the week visiting his brother Nev. Mr. Custer is a staunch democrat and an enthusiastic supporter for Gov. Campbell. He admires the governor for the "enemies he had made" and is satisfied that where one man cuts him in Hamilton county two will vote for him. "Governor Campbell," said Mr. Custer "is Ohio's Grover Cleveland and like him is one of the cleanest men in American politics. He is not a politician in any sense of the term, but he is a stateman in every sense of the term. I do think he can be beaten notwithstanding there is a large natural majority against him. The people have confidence in the governor's honest of purpose, and I believe the honest people of Ohio, irrespective of the party, will endorse him. There is one thing certain of Governor Campbell has lost no vantage ground during the past two years."
