Meeting Minutes March 6, 2006
Board Meeting
President Gaylor opened meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:30 p.m.
Roll Call: Council Gramlich, VanAuker, Weyher, Liedel, Lieto, Younglove, President Gaylor, Treasurer Grubb, Clerk McCurdy all present.
Motion: Younglove 2nd VanAuker to accept 2/08/06 minutes as read. Carried.
Motion: Liedel 2nd VanAuker to pay bills as presented with the addition of a bill for the Highway Fund to Eugene Blackmoore for Winter Maintenance, Contracted Services the sum of $1,250.00. Carried.
Treasurer Report: accepted as printed.
Items From the Floor: No comment.
Old Business:
Multi-Purpose Building: Waiting for the weather to warm in order to pour the concrete floor.
Street Paving 2006: President Gaylor received quote for the construction engineering & design of Blue bush Rd. Total engineering cost is approximately $64,724.25. Design would include a widening of each lane by 1' making the road 22' wide with a 2' paved shoulder. President Gaylor will proceed to look into other engineering firms. Tabled.
Maybee Day Report: Chairman Gaylor reported thing are coming together for the up coming Maybee Day Festival. Chairman Gaylor also said the Village will have a clean up day on 6/8/06. Clean up to be done by prisoners.
Fence at the Park: Larry Kreps of Southeastern Fencing submitted the lowest quote for the 185' fence project. Low bid is $2.790.00. President Gaylor asked council to approve Southeasterern Fencing out of Temperance for the fence installation.
Motion: Liedel 2nd Weyher to the approve Southeasterern Fencing for the fence project. Carried.
New Business:
Warning Siren Cost & Resolution: Monroe County Emergency Management Division is proposing a countywide maintenance contract with West Shore Services to begin in FY2007 for serine upgrades and maintenance of the countywide early warning system. Cost will be approximately $ 265.00 a year per siren. President Gaylor asked council to approve and adopt a resolution for the cost, upgrade and maintenance of the system.
Motion: Lieto 2nd Gramlich to adopt a resolution for the cost, upgrade, and maintenance of the Siren Early Warning System. Carried.

Medical Approval Resolution: Emergency Medical Authority has asked the Village Council to adopt a resolution for the purpose of updating their records. President Gaylor asked council to approve and adopt a resolution to receive the services of a Countywide Ambulance Service until such time Council adopts a resolution refusing said service.
Motion: Gramlich 2nd VanAuker to adopt a Resolution to receive Countywide Ambulance Services. Carried.

Lagoon Report / Lansing: President Gaylor attended an annual meeting Conference of Mayors in Lansing. President Gaylor informed council the State of Michigan has funding for the infrastructure of sanitary sewers. A DEQ Grant System that would cover the engineering and designing of the lagoon expansion every thing but the actual cost of the construction. There is a State backed Bond Issue with 1.5 % interest that could be used for the # 1 Lagoon construction. Applications will not be available until May. President Gaylor said he will actively pursue Grant and Bond Issue. Tabled.
Sewer Charge Increase - Resolution Increase to $35.00: Ordinance number 103 establishes sewer use charges for residential and non-residential premises. President Gaylor asked Council to adopt the following Resolution to increase bi-monthly charges from $25.00 to $ 35.00.
It has been determined that the current sewer charges are insufficient to meet the foregoing expenses of operation & maintenance of the sewer system, and the contractual obligations with the County of Monroe. These increases will be in effect July 2006.
Motion: Gramlich 2nd Lieto to adopt Resolution to increase bi-monthly sewer charges from $25.00 to $35.00 effective July 2006.

Renaming Ball Diamond #1: Council has chosen to revise resolution naming ball diamond #1 Veterans Field to Veterans Field of Maybee.
Motion: Lieto 2nd Gramlich to revise said resolution and name ball diamond #1 Veterans Field of Maybee. Carried.

Tree Planting 2006: President Gaylor has set the date to plant 28 trees on March 27, 2006. Volunteers are needed and asked to report 9:00 a.m. at the Village Post Office.
Village Hall Survey: Quote received from J.C. Andrus & Associates, Inc. To survey Village Hall in the amount of $1,800.00
Motion: Gramlich 2nd Weyher to approve the hiring of Andrus & Associates, Inc for the amount of $1,800.00 to survey Village Hall. Carried.
Basketball Hoop: Councilman Younglove was asked about possibly installing basket ball hoops on one of the tennis courts at the park. Tabled.
Motion : Gramlich 2nd Lieto to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. Carried.
