Meeting Minutes April 12, 2006
Board Meeting

President Gaylor opened Meeting at 7:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Those in attendance, Council Gramlich, VanAuker, Younglove, Weyher, Leito, President Gaylor, Clerk McCurdy. Those absent Council Leidel, Treasurer Grubb.

Motion: VanAuker 2nd Gramlich to accept March, 8 2006 minutes with corrections. Carried.

Motion: Weyher 2nd Younglove to pay bills as presented, with the addition of Messina Concrete for the sum of $ 831.61 from the Maybee Recreation Account. Carried.

Treasurer Report: accepted as read.

Floor: No public comment.

Old Business

Multi-Purpose Building Update: Plumbing is 90% complete. Jaws workers to do outside excavation for electrical conduit. Waiting for a Master Electrician to do final hook up.

Street Paving 2006: OHM submitted a revised proposal for the reconstruction of the west end of Bluebush Rd. According to AASHTO & MDOT Road Design Manual the recommendations for Bluebush Rd. given the truck route designation is 12' lanes with 3' paved shoulder. Approximate total cost for project engineering and construction is $611,100.00. More information will be gathered by President Gaylor. Project may be up for bid as early as February 2007. Tabled.

Maybee Day : Organizing for the up coming 2006 festival is nearly complete.

Tree Planting: Variety of nine trees have been planted at the Village Post office completing the 2006 tree planting season.

Lagoon: DEQ review of the Maybee Wastewater Stabilization Lagoon found the facility operating normally on the day of inspection. Discharge Monitoring Reports were reviewed and no effluent limit violations were reported during the time of review. The purpose of this inspection was to determine the compliance status of the facility with the conditions of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.

•  President Gaylor received an e-mail concerning the upcoming grant applications available through the State of Michigan. Applications could be ready as soon as mid-April.

New Business

Village Voice Editor Change: From Sandy Lentner to Mary Gaylor.

Tree Trimming in the Village: Legally the Village of Maybee is not responsible for trimming and the removal of trees. This does not change Village Policy, and any concerns can be brought before council.

Ice Cream / Vendors in the Village: Venders selling in the Village of Maybee should go before council to obtain a permit before selling in the village.

Property Line Survey: Village Hall survey is not complete.

Library Contract Renewal: President Gaylor asked council to approve the renewal of the four year contract with the Monroe County Library System for services provided at the Maybee Branch Library. Money for these services is paid annually out of General Fund Library Contribution Acct. Services include utilities, janitorial, furniture, equipment, and necessary repairs to the building & grounds. London, Exeter & Raisinville Townships also have a service contract.

Motion: Gramlich 2nd Leito to renew four year service contract with the Monroe County Library System for the Maybee Branch Library. Carried. 6 yeas 0 Nays

Motion: Gramlich 2nd Leito to adjourn at 8:50 p.m. Carried.
