The Smith Guards have been assigned the post of honor, in the Fourth Regiment. The companies are designated as follows:
Smith Guard, Company A; Lenawee Tigers, Company B; Peninsular Guard, Company C; Barry Guard, Company D; Hillsdale Volunteers, Company E; Hudson Volunteers, Company F; Tecumseh Union Cadets, Company G; Grosvenor Guard, Company H; Trenton Volunteers, Company J; Dexter Union Guard, Company K. Company C is designated as Color Company.
