Mr. Hopkins had been for some days confined from the effects of a fever, when he had an attack from cholera, from which he had not sufficient strength to recover. He migrated to this place, three or four years since, from Lockport, N.Y.-was a merchant of enterprising business habits-a prominent member of the Presbyterian Church of this village-and his loss will prove particularly afflicting to the surviving members of his family.
By the death of Mr. Stuart, our community has been deprived of a highly enterprising citizen, who has been suddenly cut down from a state of health and cheerfulness in the prime of his life. Upon the first commencement of the cholera, up to the time of his sickness, Mr. S. was constant in his attention at the bed-sides of the sick; and his unexpected departure, perhaps, may be attributed to extreme fatigue and care of mind, brought on by an almost unexampled watchfulness after the welfare of his fellow mortals.
