Funeral Services of Lieutenant Wm. Duffield
The funeral services of Lieutenant Wm. Duffield, of the 17th Michigan Infantry, was attended at the Presbyterian Church last Sabbath afternoon. Lt. Duffield had won an enviable reputation in his regiment for excellent behavior and soldierly conduct. Indeed the regiment owes much of its high reputation to him. In that famous charge at the battle of Antietam, he received a wound which rendered it necessary to amputate a leg and from the effects he died.
