SCHOONER AUGUSTA ACCIDENT
The schooner AUGUSTA coming into port on Thursday last, with the wind in a very unfavorable direction, and several craft in the channel, was unlucky enough to run her jib-boom into the large fish house belonging to Crowel & Ames near the government piers. The house was literally and completely demolished, hardly a vestige of it being left standing. A more complete wreck certainly never was seen. The vessel was attached for the damages, but was afterward bonded, and commenced taking her cargo of ship timber. The owners of the fish house claimed $600 as the damages, but the matter was left to referees who fixed the damages at about $350.
