Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources
Free Fishing Weekend – June 12-13, 2010
According to the Department of Natural Resources, Michigan offers more than 3,000 miles of shoreline along the Great Lakes, 36,350 miles of rivers and streams, and more than 11,037 inland lakes. With this much access to water, it is only natural that fishing would be a popular pastime.
On June 12-13, 2010, Michigan’s DNR will allow free fishing on its inland waters and Great Lakes. Whether a resident of Michigan or not, fishing license fees will be waived. For more information about the free fishing weekend, fish, or fishing, check out Michigan’s DNR website.
Follow up a free weekend of fishing with a free program about fishing at the Ellis Reference and Information Center on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
