If you love the library and want to help enhance library services and promote library use, we extend an invitation to you to become involved in the Friends of the Monroe County Library System.

This new Friends group is designed to support activities and projects at the Ellis Reference & Information Center as well as those of currently existing branch Friends groups. Friends are active in supporting special programs, facility improvements, and library resources. Among the current library programs receiving Friends support are the Black History Month Blues Series, the Dorsch Ginkgo Festival, and the Bedford Christmas Tree Lighting.

PURPOSE OF THE FRIENDS OF THE MONROE COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM

The purpose of this non-partisan, non-profit organization shall be:

    • to stimulate the quality of library services, facilities and resources
    • to develop and implement literary, educational, cultural or scientific programs for the community
    • to promote public interest in and use of the Monroe County Library System
    • to encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library
    • to lend legislative support where needed
    • to support the mission statement of the Monroe County Library System

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES

    • *Junior (Grade K-8) Membership $ 2.00
    • *Individual Membership $ 10.00
    • *Senior Membership $ 5.00
    • *Family Membership $ 15.00
    • *Life Membership $200.00
    • *We also welcome Corporate Sponsors.
