Index to The Way It Was feature by Byron Pilbeam, Sr. - This feature, written by Byron R. Pilbeam, Sr. ran in Dundee newspapers from late 1987 through 1999. It was a great source of local history as Mr. Pilbeam relayed information about the way things were when he was growing up in the 1930’s and 1940s. He wrote about events, local businesses, and a great number of individuals and families, making the feature a valuable tool that will allow genealogists to place an ancestor in a place at a specific time. Carmel Cemetery Index - Mount Carmel Cemetery is located in Toledo at the corners of Manhattan Blvd and Lagrange St. It is one of the oldest Catholic Cemeteries in Toledo with burials dating back to 1845 and continuing through to the present. This surname index will allow the researcher to locate the section and lot number of an ancestor more easily on the microfilmed records which are available at the Ellis Library & Reference Center.
Paroisses de l’Ontario francais (French Parishes of Ontario) Index - This index highlights the parishes that are included in the set of books, presented to the Ellis Library and Reference Center by the French Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan—Frenchtown Chapter. Names and dates of baptisms, marriages, and burials of parishioners are included in each book, and will be valuable to genealogists researching ancestors of French-Canadian origin.
