Michele Alvarez lives in Michigan with her husband of 20 years, their 19-year-old daughter, along with lots of animals. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in emotional impairment and a MA in learning disabilities. Michele has taught grades 1-8 in both the general education and special education sector. Currently, she is a Math Interventionist in her local district. In June of 2014, Michele received a call that changed her family forever. Her husband, Terry, was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle on Telegraph Road in Monroe. Needing a way to express her feelings Michele started to write during his long, difficult recovery from a traumatic brain injury.
The Resilient Soul is the first piece of her writing that has been published. She is currently working on a full-length book about how her family has persevered despite seemingly unsurmountable obstacles after the accident.
