How to Place a Hold
Placing a Single Hold:
If you'd like to place a request for an individual item using our Library Catalog, you can use the Request link from the initial results screen or the Request button on the full record screen.
You will then need to enter your name and library card barcode number.
Click the "Submit" button to finalize the request.
By default the request will be sent to your home branch. If you need to change your pick up location for certain items, you can do this when you log into your account. There is a dropdown menu of other locations for each item you have on hold. You can also permanently change your pick up location for all items by clicking on the "Modify Personal Info" button.
Placing Multiple Holds (in the Classic Catalog):
If you'd like to place requests for multiple items in our classic catalog (this feature is not yet available in Encore), you can save items to a Book Bag by clicking on the Book Bag link in the initial results screen or the Save Records button in the full record screen.
After placing several items in your Book Bag, click on the View Saved button. Two options are available. View and Export saved records allow you to email the saved list to yourself, send the list to the screen for printing, or save the list to a disk. The other option is View and Request saved records. You will need to enter your name and library card barcode, and choose a branch to which you would like your requests sent. Then click the Request All button, or select items from the list and click the Request Selected button.
For items that we do not own, you can also use this Suggestion Form to send your request into our Interloan Department.
The Book Bag feature in Encore will only temporarily save your items and allow you to export your saved items to your email in either Brief or Full Text.
