Girls Who Read
By Ryan Skidmore

They say girls who read are dangerous girls.
I do suppose that's true.
But dangerous girls are my favorite girls,
And I wouldn't mind raising a few.
Before she cares for selfies, or the freckles on her nose,
I'll wrap her up in fiction,
Love her in poetry and prose.
I'll put her through a closet, and down the rabbit hole.
We'll breakfast with Lizzie, lunch with Pippi, dine with Scout,
I'll build her armor with books,
Garden compassion in her little heart,
Banish boredom, narcissism, self-hatred, and doubt.
Darcy, Gilbert, and Knightley will help her spot a good man.
We'll join the "wild rumpus" with the boys,
Because trucks, and mud and matches make for great toys.
I'll tell her loving is lovely, but live a while first if you can.
This is the best way to grow a girl, you see.
Take her playing with Anne, Laura and Jo.
Let ink and paper teach her.  I should know -
These are the same stories that raised me.

Recall
By Ryleigh Byrne

There's something I miss
It's lost in the mist
Of a person you once were

I can't quite recall
What she looked like... At all
And her name is no more than a blur

There's something I need
In a place long decreed
Gone and impossible to travel

But it's something I once possessed
And I just may never rest
And my mind may begin to unravel

Although I can't say
The loss left me dismayed
For it was something I never truly had

And although I'd quite like
To recall your past life
I can't quite say that I'm sad

Formative Poem
By Tayler Flanery

Minecraft is bae it will never go away.
You are mine now can't you see that you fill me up with glee
But one day you'll probably get up and flee.
You are the one that I dream at night
and it makes me sleep tight.
Come on come on it's Friday night and I'll stay up all night.
This game is a gateway to my happiness, also it's a trapdoor to everyone's joy when they play it
for a while, Now this is my type of style

I think I just remembered something, I think I left the PC running.
This game is like a cookie, it's so sweet.
Sometimes you will loose at pvp, Maybe you can team up with me.
Put the puzzle back together and see what I'm dreaming, when I find the pieces.
In the city the sunshine is shining grey.

This game isn't a ruse, it really doesn't have moose,
This game has left me as a antisocial peasant, I will be a resident, and Notch is the president.
But lately color seems so brights, and the minecraft stars will light up the night.
I sometimes play alone and I don't moan and groan.
Some minecraft legends are told they will likely turn into redstone dust or even gold.
This game will never leave me sore, infact it will make me more.

We might not know why, we might not know how, forgive me for over playing, I don't care what
I'm saying,
We may mix it, or even fix it.
Boy your pvp skillz better not be at a height, because I'm ready for a fight.
We have unlimited lives good thing there are no knives
or we would all be bleeding red.
I feel so alive, good thing we can be revived.

I was told to use new words but I'm gonna play a ruse.
Oh wait, if I do a ruse I'll get a bruise.
Get out of the way moose, and move this goose!
Their is no way I'll use it, I'll just move it!
