From the Author: “On December 7, 1941, Japanese aircraft descended upon Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i, destroying much of the United States of America's Pacific Navy. Their mistake. I was born almost eight months later, July 29, 1942, to be exact. The only connection between the two events is that I grew up in postwar America. I wrote two books of short stories about that. You’ll enjoy them.
"The Old Man bought our 25 acre 'farm' when I was eight, so we could live 'the farm experience.' Live it we did, my kid brother Giles, little sister Lyndella, the Old Man, Mother and me. I’m told it was downright idyllic. I won’t swear to that, but it was a better life lookin’ back than I thought it was at the time. Terrible things went on in the world around us, but I knew little of that until I became a soldier in 1962.”
