The Monroe County Library System, in collaboration with the Monroe County Historical Commission, has digitized primary documents relating to the War of 1812, including the Battle of the River Raisin. The massacre that occurred at the River Raisin in 1813 has been one of the least studied and least understood events in Michigan History. Digitization of these materials will preserve important educational documents and provide greater access to primary materials about the battle and the war.
