

Kid volunteers wanted!
Travel back in time to the 1860s and enter the world of a Civil War soldier from Monroe. This will be a hands-on experience for students who have completed the 4th to 6th grade. Camp activities will include marching, setting up camp and the taste of hardtack.
This program is made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Library of American and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. It is a cooperative effort by the staff of the Monroe County Historical Museum and the Ellis Library & Reference Center.
Camp Monroe locations and dates:
- Wednesday, June 25, 2014 – Ellis Library & Reference Center, 3700 South Custer Road, Monroe MI
- Thursday, June 26, 2013 – Navarre Anderson Trading Post, 3375 North Custer Road, Monroe MI
- Roll Call begins at 10am each morning and afternoon reveille closes the program at 2pm each afternoon.
