The Ellis Library & Reference Center closed Tuesday, November 17, 2020, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. All other branches of the Monroe County Library System remain open to serve patrons at this time.
“We have a comprehensive COVID Response Plan in place and we are implementing it now,” said Library Director Nancy Bellaire.
The Monroe County Library System is working closely with the Health Department and will ensure all safety protocols have been conducted before reopening. A reopening date will be announced as soon as it has been determined safe.
“Our guidelines meet or exceed the CDC, MiOSHA, and Health Department standards,” said Bellaire. “We need to get this right for our community, our patrons, and our staff.”
Patrons with items on hold at the Ellis Library & Reference Center can pick them up once the branch reopens. Requested materials may also be rerouted to another branch for pick-up.
