About the River Raisin Review

The River Raisin Review is a literary journal produced by the Monroe County Library System featuring the writing submissions of Monroe County patrons and residents.

Submission Guidelines

What kind of work is the River Raisin Review looking for?
The River Raisin Review considers original works including poetry and short stories of any genre, from writers ages 16 and up. Short stories must be under 5,000 words; poetry is limited to three pages per poem. Explicit content should be kept at a minimum, but ultimately appropriateness will be determined by the editors. Works submitted must be fully edited and ready to be to published. Please note that while we assure you every piece is read and reviewed carefully, we are not able to provide any criticism.

Does the River Raisin Review accept previously published material?
No, we cannot consider anything that has been previously published or accepted for publication, anywhere, in any form. Work that has appeared online is considered to have been previously published and should not be submitted.

Does the River Raisin Review pay?
